Established by Augustin Theriault in 1938 and currently under the fourth generation of Theriault family ownership, A.F. Theriault & Son Ltd. today stands proudly as the oldest and largest privately owned vessel manufacturer in Nova Scotia and one of the largest privately owned shipyards in the Atlantic region.
Founded in an era when wooden boats still ruled the seas, today, the yard is a very different place, building state-of-the-art workboats, pilot boats, patrol vessels, yachts, fireboats, vehicle/passenger ferries, and commercial fishing vessels.
We pride ourselves on our innovation by combining old techniques with the latest materials and technologies to build vessels of the highest quality from steel, aluminum, fibreglass and advanced composites.
